A true human and technological adventure for nearly 100 year, the SAFT company (part of TOTAL Group) is specialized in the aim of optimizing energy performance on land, at sea, in the air and even beyond, in space.

Since 2018, SAFT has been leading a European alliance to develop the Solid-state Battery Program (SSBP), aiming to bring a safer, more powerful and with a lower cost generation of batteries. Well underway, this project needs more Mechanical R&D Engineers who are passionate about working on developing the technology of tomorrow.


We are currently seeking an experienced Chemistry R&D Technician to support our Solid State Program in Bordeaux, France. Dedicated to the chemistry division of the Solid-State Battery Program, you will realize tests at different maturity levels on new chemicals in order to respond to the different needs. You will therefore participate to the internal and external projects linked to the activity, including by offering patentable concepts and ideas.


our main missions will be to:


• Carry out characterizations, studies and chemical analyses, following the laboratory instruction sheets, then explain and interpret the results and write the reports associated.
• Manage and keep several laboratory equipment clean and operational, monitor calibrations. Write instruction sheets if needed.
• Use element calculation sheets by replacing existing data, which requires a knowledge of the basic rules of the accumulator design trade.
• Find the SAFT norms or standards to apply, apply them and have a thorough knowledge of them
• Manage purchase orders and write selling orders
• Write detailed and concrete internal memos, oral or written reports
• Interact with the service and related, as well as with the suppliers


Required profile:


✓ You have a Chemicals/Physics-Chemistry bachelor’s degree or equivalent
✓ You have at least 5 years of work experience on a similar position.
✓ Ideally, you have already used MFGPro and know the problems solving methods (ASIT, 8D).


In addition to your technical skills, you have analytical skills, adaptability to change and to anticipate, as well as a strong sense of organization. You are inventive, take initiatives, and enjoy working independently while maintaining a team spirit.


Due to the international environment of the project, travels are to be expected and English proficiency is essential.
