Dessinateur Projeteur / Design Office Technician H/F

The world leader in the design and production of high-tech batteries, Saft (4300 employees worldwide, including 1450 in France spread over 4 sites), has been part of the Total group since 2016. Saft works with a network of global partners and their batteries power equipment in a wide range of sectors, from aerospace and rail to energy and electronics.

Since 2018, Saft has been leading a European alliance to develop the solid-state battery of the future, which means a significant investment in R&D. Well underway, this project needs more Design Office Technicians who are passionate about working on developing the technology of tomorrow.

Batteries play a crucial role in the energy transition; that’s why Saft aims to develop new environmentally friendly solutions and to reduce their carbon footprint.

To support their growth and development, Saft is recruiting Design Office Technicians, based in Nersac (16) near Angoulême or in Bordeaux (33).

Your tasks will be to:

  • Develop new cells and modules for the solid-state activity in the frame of the design office team.
  • Develop drawings and sketches from various documents and specifications in order to define the technical functionalities of the works or projects with dedicated CAD tools (Solidworks).
  • Monitor project phases in its technical areas.
  • Define the elements necessary for their manufacture and/or installation (dossier, production specifications, specifications...).

Required profile:
  • Translate user(s) needs into functionalities and technical specifications
  • Analyze and respond to specifications
  • Using Computer-Assisted Design and Drawing Software – CAD: Solidworks
  • Determine and calculate the functional, physical, dimensional, structural or geometric constraints of parts, products, tools...
  • Costing projects and developing technical files (plans, ...)
  • Drawing 2D prints and 3D models

With a Mechanical Design degree or similar, you have at least 5 years of experience on a similar position in the field of large series industrial equipment (automobile, medical…).

You have already worked on Solidworks.

You have a strong appetence for the study of new processes.

In addition to your technical skills, you also demonstrate a strong analysis spirit and adaptability to change, good anticipation skills, a good sense of organization and customer service, a spirit of initiative and a results-oriented approach.

Due to the international environment of the project, travels are to be expected and English proficiency is essential.
